Serene Bathrooms

Via house to home

I was browsing through galleries looking for interior inspiration that just oozed ZEN. I was not let down! Happily stashed these to my bathroom folder. A recurring design trend that I particularly like is the decorative cement finish. Tiles? What tiles? This, plus a wooden flooring to warm up the space. Another winning detail would be the white voile. Dreamy. And the special touch, driftwood decor items...

  4. It's a pleasure to see L'Habitation Créole again, now called Le jardin de Beau Vallon... The Royal palms I planted with the help of two bulldozers are still there but obviously much taller, they are really "Royal" now... also most of the original furniture and then of course the Pavillon, with the hand painted door I imported from the Far East, and the colonial wooden bed... last but not least, the cemented bathroom, the first I think in Mauritius. My workers thought I was mad at the time using this "poor" material... I'm happy that the people running the place now, did keep most of the original artifacts and design... The pool, unfortunately does not fit the rest of the atmosphere... The smell of the wooden floors, the frangipani and mangos, and the giant Banyan tree at the entrance still haunt me some nights... Good luck anyway...
